Where: 39 Sites Across London

When: Saturday, September 14 & Sunday, September 15

Get an inside look at London's many museums, heritage sites, and community organizations and hear London's untold stories during the annual Doors Open London weekend on September 14 & 15, 2019.

Organized by the London Heritage Council, this family-friendly two-day event offers access to 39 heritage and cultural sites, free of charge. Untold Stories of the Forest City will highlight the diverse ways Londoners connect and share information, express their cultural traditions and identities, and connect to the wider world.

From technologies such as television and radio broadcasting connecting people across the city, to the expression of Indigenous oral traditions, communication brings our stories to life.

Enjoy re-enactments, educational tours, and other interactive performances as participating sites highlight their less-known stories and histories. Sites such as Blackburn Radio, CBC London, Faculty of Information & Media Studies at Western University, and Rogers TV, will give visitors insights into modern communication and storytelling.

Visitors can also experience First Nations culture and history through oral storytelling, music, and dance with performances at Museum London and London Children's Museum.

Hear stories from Londoners past with re-enactments and performances at Brick Street Cemetery and Woodland Cemetery. And see some of London's neighbourhoods in a new light with the Hamilton Road Tree Carving Bus Tour, beginning at Hamilton Road Senior Centre, and ACO London & LondonFuse's "Untold Stories of Victoria Park" Walking Tour. Doors Open London is made possible by the generous support of our Founding Corporate Sponsor, Canada Life.

Additional support comes from the Government of Canada, the City of London, and Doors Open Ontario. Celebrating its 18th year, Doors Open London is one of the longest running community celebrations in Ontario and is the city of London's largest collective celebration of history, heritage, and culture. It is a weekend designed to encourage residents and visitors to explore, ask questions, and reflect as they visit a variety of organizations and venues throughout the city.

This vibrant program supports the local heritage community and builds civic pride.
